From Beyond; Movie Review (Lovecraft Inspired)

This was an enjoyable movie. I really liked waiting to see what was going to happen next. There’s not a lot of movies where you get to see two beings become one while battling each other and have humans evolve because of the growth of their amygdala which causes there to be added sexuality and violence. There are a few times when you wonder why people don’t stop doing what they are doing to keep everything from continuing but at the end of the day, this movie is fairly solid.

From Beyond By H.P. Lovecraft was a relatively short story where a scientist creates a machine that allows him to see and interact with what is beyond our realm of understanding and physicality as humans. In doing so the scientist is corrupted and ends up trying to kill his friend who didn’t believe in him. The movie takes over from that point and aims to goes further into the implication of the events in the short story.

Watch this movie if you like:

  • Weird fiction
  • Stories that go in surprising unexpected directions
  • Movies with BDSM
  • Super cool creatures that couldn’t exist in our world
  • H.P. Lovecraft inspired fiction
  • A story that won’t inspire you but will entertain you

37 out for 42 stars! (Because stars are a true form of measuring how much I think you sir/maim will like this movie!)
