A Mountain Walked is a Lovecraftian collection that includes big names like Neil Gaiman as contributing authors. I picked this up on Kindle recently.
The book is made of a primary story and four shorter stories. The Story by Gaiman was by far my favorite.
Overall some of theses stories are a bit long and they meander a little. A couple felt like they could be better if they were cut in half. Some of the stories could benefit from less detail and allow the cosmic horror / Lovecraftian themes to give the readers imagination something more to fear. Yet at the same time there were stories that made me want to learn more about characters.
I’m not really sure how to feel about this collection overall. I can’t quite say if I really liked it or didn’t like it. I think it’s something I’ll have to sit down with in a few months and reread so that I can come to more of a final decision personally. If you are a fan of HP Lovecraft I think you’ll like it. The book was written with goo quality.
