Why is everything a series?

Why is everything a series? It’s not a stand alone book, it’s not a satnad alone movie? It’s always an opening to a cinimatic universe or a book series that’s 12 books long with 6 spin offs and a few short stories collections. Why not have single stories?

Because we don’t buy them. The reason we only get content that’s the same over and over and in the same worlds and with the same characters is because we keep buying it. It’s capitalism and it’s all our own faults. I love it and I hate it. But in the end we apparently deserve it.

  1. There is a lot to be said for standalone novels and stories. Series have some things to recommend them, but standalones are an important part of reading.
