The Best Horror Movies on Netflix

Coming into the new year you might be thinking to yourself, “I could use a good scare!” 2020 wasn’t enough! lol…..

Well below we have put together a list of what be believe are the best horror movies on Netflix. Netflix is one of the top streaming services so there’s a good chance you have access or could borrow a friends account for a good scare.

So what scary movies are on Netflix?

#ALIVE

#Alive is an interesting movie about zombies. If you aren’t zombied out yet, this movie is a lot of fun. A young man is trapped in his apartment during a zombie apocalypse and has to survive. He’s not alone…. This movie does a great job of showing you just how awful it really would be if zombies destroyed a city and you were locked in you home the day that you were too lazy to go buy groceries in the morning. With the current pandemic lockdowns this movie is very relatable and real.

The Autopsy of Jane Doe

The Autopsy of Jane Doe is a great scary movie on Netflix. This one is about a morgue. I wont spoil the ending but who Jane Doe is makes this story very smart. It’s about 2 morticians who are just trying to do their jobs. Corpses aren’t supposed to cause problems. I didn’t think that I would like this one but ended up enjoying it after a friend recommended it to me. It left me feeling scared in my home while I was alone. I supposed I shouldn’t have watched it alone at night in a home with creaky floors. (If you can’t find this one on Netflix anymore try Amazon Prime)

Gerald’s Game

If you’ve thought about kinky sex and tie up games this horror movie on Netflix might be too real for you! It’s about a husband and wife who are playing a kinky game. The wife is attached to the bed. Then something unexpected happens. Her husband dies. Que some hallucinations and you have yourself a prime mixer for some scary times. It’ll make you think twice before you let yourself get handcuffed before bed.

Poltergeist

Looking for something Classic? Check out Poltergeist. It’s a scary movie on Netflix that I’ve been dreading rewatching since I was a child. it truly terrifies me. It’s almost not a good time. It defiantly makes me no longer want to have a pool put in. The movie is a great classic terror.

Cult of Chucky

Lets get a little silly. Because Chucky is a little silly. I mean it’s a doll. It’s silly. It can’t not be. Cult of Chucky ramps it up to another level with multiple of the little demon dolls coming after our protagonist in a psych ward. This ones a cheeky good time. Check out this horror movie on Netflix.

Splice

Splice is an odd one. I almost didn’t put it on the list. I almost said to myself, this one doesn’t fit. It’s not horror. But the ending alone makes it horror. Then if you go ahead and think about all the wild things and decisions that are made and apply them to our capabilities now days and the fact hat we are very close if not fully possible of making this happen it’s a pretty scary movie.

Killer Clowns from Outer Space

Wanna get weird? I mean like 80’s weird. Not wild, just weird, it’s not that crazy but it is KILLER CLOWNS FROM SPACE!!!!! It’s interesting! lets just say that. I’m not sure it’s exactly scary but it’s not going to fit well into another category. It’s wroth a trip into a weird horror land of alien imagination.
